  • We work with local, regional and national based recycling processing companies to make sure everything is properly recycled.

Once we collect your recycling, we transport the bags to our local recycling warehouse. We hand sort out the material we can process locally, such as cardboard and metals. In Lubbock we work with American Fibers and Jarvis Metals. The remaining materials that cannot be processed locally, such as glass and plastics, we ship to the DFW and Austin areas to make sure all items are properly recycled. Regionally we work with Strategic Materials and Agilyx. We work extra hard to make sure everything we accept in collection, is recycled. We do this by educating the public on proper recycling practices, taking action to correct improper recycling habits, and we take on expenses to transport the recycling exactly where it needs to go to be processed correctly. If we accept it, we can recycle it. Please refer to our How to Recycle page to learn about what we can and cannot accept.

  • All material needs to be in a securely tied closed bag with the exception of cardboard larger than a cereal box. All cardboard boxes need to be broken down flat. You can use the bags we provide to you, or bags of your own. Glass and shredded paper should be bagged separately. This is because glass mixed in other recycling poses a safety risk to our drivers and sorters. Shredded paper is so small that it can easily end up as litter when mixed with other material or clog the sorting machinery.

Please bag all electronic, small appliances, cords, batteries and other e-waste separately. These items go to a specific facility where the items are dissembled and each component is recycled. We charge to recycle these items at $2 per lbs.

All recycling needs to be rinsed out and free of food waste. Food waste will rot and spoil the entire bag of recycling, causing it to be classified as trash.

Place all broken down boxes on the ground and weigh them down with the securely tied bags of recycling. (or place recycling bags in a bin if preferred) We prefer recycling curbside but in special circumstances, like windy days, recycling can be placed by the porch. Please make sure the recycling will be visible to our drivers to ensure a successful pickup. If you’d like to make a request for your recycling to be picked up in a specific location, please let us know and we will add a note to your account. We can pick up recycling in the alley if it is paved.

  • You do not have to remove labels or lids. If you remove labels and lids it helps with the recycling process but you are not required to do so. Although not ideal, plastic processors have come to expect lids and labels. There is no need to remove tape, paper labels or staples on cardboard boxes. Those extra items will not affect the cardboard recycling process.

  • Yes. There is a 6-bag limit per pickup, but we will still collect any additional bags for $2 per bag. This will be charged to your account on file after collection. These fees are in place to cover all sorting, transporting and processing of the additional material.

We have a weight limit of 30 lbs. per bag. We have that weight limit in place because our driver and sorters hand lift bags up over their head and into the trailer throughout the day. Bags heavier than 30 lbs. also have the tendency to break open. Our drivers use a scale to weigh heavy bags and bags above the weight limit are subject to be left behind. We suggest distributing heavy bags into multiple bags.

  • Yes! Although we highly encourage you to use our bags. Our bags are clear, so our drivers and sorters can see what is inside each bag, allowing us to quickly identify if a bag has food waste, or un-recyclable items. We even sell boxes of our bags on our website! However you are welcome to use your own bags if you would like.

  • We deliver your first set of recycling bags with your welcome packet after sign up. Additional complementary bags are delivered on the first pickup of each month.

  • While we prefer curbside, if the location is accessible to our drivers, and the alley is paved, we can pickup via door-side or in the alley. Please contact us to let us know, and we will place the note on your account.

On bad weather days, we encourage you to place your bags in the safest place for them. On days with excessive wind or rain, you are more than welcome to move your recycling to this location. Just be sure they will still be visible to our drivers from the road.

  • For safety, and quality control reasons we do not accept drop offs to our facility. The City of Lubbock offers a drop off program for all Lubbock residents. Please make sure your recycling is clean, and sorted properly. Be aware the city does not recycle glass, magazines, or plastics #3-#7. We are currently the only glass recycler in west Texas.

  • Everything we recycle must fit inside a bag (except large cardboard). Therefore we cannot take large plastic items like water jugs, kiddie pools, or storage tubs.

We are now able to recycle small electronics and appliances. These must also fit into a standard size recycling bag, and must be bagged separately from you other recycling. Our same 30 lbs. weight limit also applies. We have partnered with E-waste recyclers who completely dismantle each item and ensure all parts are properly recycled! We can recycle these items for $2 per lbs.

  • No, with the exception of Electronics, Small Appliances and other E-Waste. Toys are often mixed with several types of plastic that are not easy to separate. If we cannot separate one type of material from another, then we cannot recycle it. Other examples of mixed materials might include toothbrushes, binder clips, sunglasses, or fake plants and plastic Christmas trees. In order to recycle it, the item must be entirely one type of material. Consider donating to a local nonprofit.

  • We do not buy metal. If you have metal to sell we recommend taking it to Jarvis metals.
