Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my recycling after it’s picked up?

We partner with local, regional, and national recycling processors to ensure your materials are handled responsibly. After collection, your items are taken to our local recycling warehouse, where we sort and process materials we can handle in-house—primarily cardboard and metals.

Materials that can’t be processed locally, such as certain plastics, are transported to facilities in the Dallas–Fort Worth and Austin areas to ensure proper recycling. Regionally, we work with partners like Strategic Materials for glass and Agilyx for hard-to-recycle plastics. For electronics, we fully disassemble each item and recycle all components in accordance with R2 standards.

We go the extra mile to make sure everything we accept is properly recycled. That includes educating customers on best practices, helping correct common recycling mistakes, and covering transportation and processing costs when needed so materials end up in the right place.

Our processes have been independently audited by organizations such as Texas Tech University and BASF, as well as municipalities like Abilene, Texas. We also meet all TCEQ requirements. Transparency is important to us—if you ever have a question about where a specific item goes, just ask. We’re always happy to share more.

How many bags and boxes can I include in a pickup?

You can include up to 5 bags per pickup and up to 30 boxes of broken-down cardboard per pickup. If you have more than 5 bags, additional bags are welcome—each extra bag will incur a $3 fee to cover the added processing costs.

I don’t have enough for regular service—what can I do?

No problem! We understand that some households may not generate enough recycling for regular service. That’s why we offer convenient one-time pickups you can schedule anytime.

What happens If I miss a pickup?

No worries! If you miss a pickup, just give us a call and we’ll provide a complimentary reschedule.

Why was my bag left behind?

There are a few reasons a bag may be left behind.

For the safety of our drivers, each bag must be under a 25 lb weight limit.

Bags may also be left if they contain items we can’t accept, such as food waste, tires, hazardous materials, or pressurized containers like helium tanks.

Additionally, items that pose a safety risk—such as broken glass—may not be collected.

If a bag is not picked up, our drivers will leave a sticker explaining the reason, and we’ll also do our best to notify you by email.

How do i get more blue bags?

We provide complimentary bags to your home each month for the life of your service. New bags are delivered at the first pickup of the month.

You’re welcome to use your own bags anytime, and if you prefer ours, we offer boxes of blue bags for $25.

Do I have to sort my recycling?

Our goal is to make recycling as convenient as possible so you can recycle more which means very limited sorting.

We do ask that a few items are kept separate to help with safety and proper processing. Please bag glass separately for the safety of our drivers and sorters. Electronics, light bulbs, and batteries should also be placed in their own separate bags.

Is the service twice per mont or every other week?

Our twice-per-month service does not always follow an exact every-other-week schedule. A few times each year, depending on how the calendar aligns, there may be an extra week between pickups. Rest assured, your recycling will still be collected two times each month.

During these transitional months, we can also provide an additional pickup if needed for $10. You can view your current and upcoming pickup schedule anytime on our website.
