How to recycle in West Texas
As important as recycling is in Lubbock and Abilene, it is also important to recycle correctly. Doing so maximizes the chance everything will be fully recycled and not be rejected during collection, sorting and processing.

Accepted Materials
The following items are accepted in the communities we recycle in across west Texas.
From Wolfforth to Ransom Canyon or from Potosi to Buffalot Gap!
If we accept it, we recycle it!
Glass
All colors of glass bottles and jars. Please rinse before bagging.
Plastics #1 - #7
Including water bottles, milk jugs, yogurt cups, and butter tubs.
Metals
Aluminum, tin, and steel cans.
Free of food waste.
Paper and Cardboard
Flattened shipping boxes, cereal boxes, junk mail, and office paper.
Shred paper bagged separately.
Styrofoam
Cups, egg cartons, and packing blocks.
No packing peanuts or to-go containers please.
Electronics
Cords, cables, keyboards, and small household appliances.
Please bag separately.
($2/lb charge applies)
Textiles
Clean clothing, shoes, and linens.
Please bag separately.
Household Batteries
Alkaline, recharagable btteries, and small button batteries.
Please bag separately.
A Few helpful tips:
No food waste and make sure your recyclables are as clean as possible.
Please bag paper mindfully to avoid contamination by water or other liquids.
Break down all cardboard boxes and make sure all bags are securely tied closed.
Please no pizza boxes, dirty napkins, or other products contaminated by food waste.
All recycling must be bagged for pickup. (excluding cardboard larger than a cereal box)
Our bag weight limit is 25 lbs. If a bag exceeds this, please split the amount in separate bags.
No need to remove labels! Please only remove lids for items that are made of different material.
Please be aware we have a bag limit of 5 bags per pickup. We will pick up extra bags at $3 per bag.
Electronics, Small Appliances & E-Waste may be recycled for $2 per lbs! Please bag separately to be recycled.
The cardboard limit per pickup is 30 un-bagged boxes or less. Additional labor charges may apply to higher volumes.
We cannot accept an item if it is too large to fit into a traditional bag and cannot be broken down.
Please, no mixed materials that cannot be separated (Toys, Sunglasses etc.)
Recycling is sorted by hand, so please no broken glass or sharp objects.
If using a bin, please ensure the bin is properly labeled as recycling.
Remember, your recycling should never smell!
